John Henry COUCH [image] "Couchy" (Jack Harry , John Henry Lane , Peter , John David , Peter , Peter , Peter , William ) was born 12 Oct 1935 in "Seacombe Hosp" Wolsely Street, Drummoyne N.S.W. Parents: Martha Berriman and Jack Harry Couch He died 15 Feb 1989 in Manilla, NSW from Liver Cancer and was buried in Tamworth Crematorium Ashes on "Wilga Vale"'.

Couchy married Helen TREMBLE [image], his childhood sweetheart and daughter of Stanley TREMBLE and Alma Violet RUSSELL, on 11 Jan 1958 in Garrison Church "the Rocks" Sydney. Helen was born 3 Sep 1936 in Royal Hospital For Women Paddington and was christened in Summer Hill.

Story: John spent his early life in Drummoyne, married in 1958 and built a house at Bundaleer Rd, Belrose Sydney but finally settled at Wilga Vale, Manilla NSW in 1970. John was a keen sailor in his youth and a breeder of fine Red Poll cattle after his move to the bush in 1970. He was a proud member of Rotary International. John had a couple of serious bouts of hepatitis in his youth, perhaps this was a contributory factor in his final ailment. John's ashes are scattered among the trees near the old 'Wilga Vale' house, a property 3 mile north of Manilla NSW on the junction of the Namoi River and Yarramanbully Creek.

Joan married Geoff CAIRNS on c1950 in Sydney NSW. Geoff was a Brigadier in the Australain Army. He contracted a brain tumour in 1981 and died c1982.
